To frame experiences
My name is Nic Burgess and I enjoy the opportunities that happen through deciding to look through a new lens. Before this, I was a registered nurse, and I was able to meet and take care of thousands of people.
Now, I am able to work with and take care of people during the other important (not surgery) moments of their lives.
I work with brands, weddings, and volunteer opportunities like the National Geographic Explorers program to invite people in to the world around us.
Wedding photography
Photographing 15+ weddings have been an absolute joy. I love working 1:1 (Or rather 1:2) with couples to help frame the important moments to capture, and create an itinerary that allows for these special moments to be captured.

Brand Work
I work with different companies to do experience design. Whether it is a marathon, trail run, or other event, I work with teams of designers and trades to provide a curated experience for the viewer to take away what the brand wants from the experience.
One experience I have had so much joy from working on as a production assistant is the Salomon Dark Room experience at the 2025 Broken Arrow Skyrace at Palisades in Tahoe, California.

Nature photography
Birds. Fish. Deer. Marmots. Bears. Cats.
I will patiently wait hours to happen across a new species to capture. One of my favorite moments was in Alaska, volunteering with National Geographic’s Travelers program to study four new species of Planarian flatworms that we found in Prince of Wales Island, Alaska.
